IUCT Oncopole evaluates KOELIS transperineal biopsy under local anesthesia within their clinical routine

Pr Malavaud and Dr Portalez from Institut Universitaire du Cancer de Toulouse Oncopole are now using KOELIS Trinity® Perine application under local anesthesia. After having demonstrated this technique is feasible, an evaluation on several patients is ongoing to validate this practice as a routine protocol.

Transperineal biopsies under local anesthesia allow halving the intervention’s time comparing to the ones made with general anesthesia and can be made in ambulatory consultation, which improves the experience of both patient and clinician.

This advancement means a first step towards potential focal treatment under local anesthesia.
