What are the anesthesia requirements when using KOELIS Technology?

Procedures can be performed under general or local anesthesia, even transperineal procedures. With KOELIS Trinity®, you have the ability to choose the best approach you feel is necessary!

Where can the biopsy procedure be performed using KOELIS Trinity®?

A Biopsy procedure with KOELIS Trinity® can either be performed in an operating room or an outpatient procedural setting.

How long does a prostate biopsy procedure take when using KOELIS Technology?

A transrectal or transperineal biopsy procedure can take approximately 30 minutes.

What is Fusion biopsy?

Fusion Biopsy consists of a software-based fusion where MRI and US images are fused together using an algorithm, whereas cognitive fusion is a mental workup based on two images side by side.

KOELIS uses elastic fusion for its software. The images are adjusted to fit perfectly, allowing better fusion accuracy than rigid fusion consisting only of superimposing images.

Why use KOELIS Trinity® to perform fusion biopsies?

KOELIS Trinity® combines the MRI/US elastic fusion technology with a proprietary sensorless, image-based organ tracking technology (OBT Fusion®).

Thanks to the elastic fusion and OBT Fusion®, KOELIS Trinity® enables first-rate accuracy in targeted prostate biopsy. Furthermore, KOELIS ® provides a new standard of care in prostate cancer management based on quality control and traceability.

What allows us to do this is our mapping: a 3D map (biopsy mapping, MRI target mapping, PET target mapping, 2nd look mapping) personalized for every patient, scalable, and built with exclusive technologies.

The KOELIS® multi-parametric map is the perfect tool for a personalized treatment decision, whether it is active surveillance, surgery, or focal treatment (and focal treatment can only be done effectively with the right mapping).

Can the software be installed on any ultrasound machine?

No, KOELIS Trinity® is a mobile system with an integrated ultrasound scanner. This eliminates the need to connect to an external ultrasound scanner and allows for a minimal footprint.

Following the purchase of my KOELIS Trinity®, what support is provided by KOELIS? What are the associated services?

KOELIS® offers a comprehensive plan for total peace of mind.

Following your purchase, a complete on-site installation is performed by a KOELIS® representative. Then, initial training on phantom followed by a second training on a patient is organized.

In terms of after-sales service, KOELIS® offers a range of maintenance contracts that have been designed with a focus on protection and prevention; and offers technical & clinical support.

Why should I use KOELIS Trinity® when I can do cognitive fusion?

KOELIS Trinity® is designed to perform targeted prostate biopsies as the new standard of care in prostate cancer management, based on quality control and traceability.
It uses technologies that have been validated by more than 80 clinical publications to date, showing, not exclusively, the value, accuracy, and safety.

KOELIS® products and technologies are dedicated to the prostate, a considerable advantage over standard cognitive fusion and ultrasound systems that are not accurate for the prostate (deformation, patient motion, etc.)

Is KOELIS Trinity® only for targeted biopsy?

The extensive possibilities offered by our system might pave the way to install new activities at your site. KOELIS Trinity® can be used for template and targeted biopsies. It allows alternating biopsy methods (Transperineal and Transrectal) using the same system and opens the door to many types of focal needle treatments.

Convex and linear probes are also available on the KOELIS Trinity® for use in a broad range of urologic procedures.

KOELIS® provides a unique, single 3D ultrasound and mapping system to manage all these procedures.
