What is 2nd Look technology for prostate biopsy?

2nd Look fusion accurately superimposes previous sessions to the current  biopsy procedure in order to target biopsy localization according to previous 3D cartography.

Compatible with both transrectal and transperineal approaches, the physician can follow the cancer evolution and decide accordingly the most adapted solution for patient care.

How does it work?

This is a 3D mapping of a 1st look transrectal prostate biopsy where positive cores are detected on a lesion from the MRI, but in an unexpected location within the prostate that was not originally visible on the MRI. Because a suspicious positive core was detected in an unexpected location from the first biopsy, in this 2nd look re-biopsy, the physician now has detected an anterior lesion. Now the physician can have a better understanding for prostate cancer treatment and care management.

Why should you switch to2nd Look?

Complementary diagnosis

Rebiopsy of previously explored areas and biopsy of unexplored areas to gain knowledge and clarify your diagnosis with precision.

Active surveillance strategy

Rebiopsy the tumor location to monitor disease progression and initiate appropriate management at the appropriate time.

Preoperative treatment planning

Use a new biopsy to accurately delineate the area eligible for prostate cancer treatment and biopsy unexplored locations to ensure the absence of other foci.

Post-treatment follow up

Perform a repeat prostate biopsy of the treated area to confirm the effectiveness of the treatment.
